The first episode of the new reality dating series Wingman dropped yesterday, and we are here for it. As promised, we’ve already seen a rollercoaster of emotions and surprising twists, leaving everyone buzzing about what’s to come. Let’s get into it!

The show is set in a luxurious (but I’m sorry, definitely fake) manor, which according to a press release from the production company is “Neo-Italianate.” I don’t know what that means, but it makes sense that they had to film this in an enclosed studio set, because secrecy about the show has been tighter than host Busty Moneyslam’s brassiere.

Speaking of the former professional wrestler, she kicked things off last night with her signature charm, revealing in candid interview footage the show’s major twist: our lovely bachelorette, Abellyne Rihanna Llewellen, is not going to be seduced by any of the show’s twenty male contestants. Instead, each of them are competing to be the best “wingman,” subtly guiding Abellyne toward the hapless, socially awkward, but honestly not too bad-looking Eugene.

Almost immediately, the next twist was revealed, as we saw behind-the-scenes footage of the contestants being introduced to Eugene—who is not actually a fellow contestant, but a producer on the show itself! Cameramen, boom operators, and all the usually hidden things that make TV magic are going to be fully included in the show, and only Abellyne will be unaware that nothing is actually behind-the-scenes.

Of course, to maintain the structure of the show-within-a-show, contestants will still have to be voted off each episode, so it will be their job to walk the tightrope of staying close to Abellyne, but ultimately getting themselves rejected in favor of Eugene. If the last man standing can successfully convince her to follow her heart and admit her feelings for Eugene—without revealing that it’s been a setup all along—he will win $200,000, and the hearts of viewers everywhere.

(And while you might think that keeping Abellyne to himself is not a bad consolation prize, it’s unlikely to happen once the curtain is pulled aside for her, and all of the final wingman’s lies are revealed. No woman wants to be with a man so selfish that he stands in the way of true love!)

Fortunately for the contestants, we have yet to see our first elimination round—stay tuned for the Episode 2 recap!—but viewers are already picking their favorites. Trending hashtags for the show included #IllTakeAdam, #JosiahNeedsTherapy, and #TeamBusty, the last being used by viewers who are certain that another romantic twist is surely on the way by the end of the show.

Be sure to check back here for recaps of future episodes, as the quest for love continues!

Amid screaming fans and beaming colleagues, Busty Moneyslam was inducted into the Wrestling Hall of Fame on Saturday evening, cementing her legacy as one of the most influential and trailblazing figures in the sport’s history. The ceremony, held at the organization’s largest performance facility in Orlando, FL, was a celebration of Moneyslam’s groundbreaking career, marked by unparalleled athleticism and resilience.

Born and raised in rural Kentucky, Moneyslam spoke about watching wrestling as a child with her family, idolizing legends of the sport while dreaming of one day stepping into the ring herself. However, in an era when professional wrestling was dominated by male performers, opportunities for women were scarce and often limited to stereotypical roles.

Determined to break the mold, Moneyslam trained tirelessly, honing her skills in local gyms and smaller promotions before making her national debut at the age of 23. Her in-ring persona symbolized her pride as a woman and her desire to close the pay gap, themes which resonated with fans and became a hallmark of her career.

“When I started, people told me there was no place for women in wrestling,” Moneyslam said during her induction speech. “But I knew what I was capable of, and that one day I would make them beg for mercy.”

“Busty’s impact goes beyond titles and accolades,” said longtime colleague and fellow Hall of Famer Jim “Atomic Rhino” Fugelsang. “She changed the way people view women in wrestling. She made it possible for the next generation to dream bigger.”

Beyond her in-ring accomplishments, Moneyslam has been a vocal advocate for charitable causes. After her retirement from wrestling and transition into television, she founded the nonprofit organization “Little Bookers,” dedicated to putting children’s books in elementary classrooms across the country.

“Busty has always been about giving back,” said Audrey Park, CFO of Park Ministries and a longtime supporter and friend. “She’s not just a mentor; she’s a role model who shows us what’s possible when you refuse to give up.”

The induction ceremony was a star-studded affair, attended by wrestling legends, fans, and industry insiders. Moneyslam’s introduction was delivered by Fugelsang, whose emotional speech highlighted their storied history in the ring. “We pushed each other to our limits,” Fugelsang said, fighting back tears. “But beyond the competition, Busty has always been my greatest inspiration.”

Notably, Moneyslam’s ex-husband and former wrestling partner Grip “Spandex Pecs” Rutherford was not in attendance. He declined to comment for this article.

In a case that has captured global attention, the widow of Klaus Olavi, former singer of the heavy metal band Brutish Colonizer, was arrested on Tuesday in China on charges of political espionage. 43-year-old Eliza Harper was reportedly visiting the country to attend a cultural exchange event.

According to Chinese state media, Harper is accused of obtaining and attempting to smuggle classified government documents. The Chinese government has released very few details about the case, citing national security concerns, but they claim that Harper had been under surveillance for months and was apprehended in possession of sensitive materials.

“The suspect was engaged in activities that posed a serious threat to our national security,” a statement from China’s Ministry of State Security read. “The investigation is ongoing, and we will disclose more information at an appropriate time.”

Harper, a current resident of Los Angeles, was originally employed by Brutish Colonizer as a public relations manager during the band’s early years, and married frontman Olavi shortly after being hired. She often traveled with the band as they rose to prominence within the heavy metal scene, and was working in a nearby hotel suite when, during a concert performance at the Shenglitang Theater in Kunming, China, the band and several thousand of their audience members were killed in a missile strike amid the ongoing war in China.

In the years since then, Harper has become an advocate for political and cultural change within the United States, establishing a survivor’s fund for the families of those affected, and using her position to facilitate diplomatic conversations between governments, civilian groups, and the musical community at large. She has stated in the past that “the American military industrial complex is to blame” for the event which killed her husband, and has repeatedly called for both financial restitution and a formal apology from the U.S. government.

Nonetheless, Harper’s arrest has triggered widespread condemnation from Western governments and human rights organizations. The U.S. State Department has called for Harper’s immediate release, labeling the charges “baseless” and her detention “unacceptable.”

“We are deeply concerned about Ms. Harper’s welfare and the lack of transparency surrounding her arrest,” said Secretary of State Karen Alvarez in a press briefing. “We demand that China adhere to international norms and provide a fair and swift resolution to this matter.”

Several countries, including the United Kingdom and Canada, have also expressed alarm. Amnesty International issued a statement condemning Harper’s arrest as part of a broader crackdown on foreign nationals in China. “This incident underscores a troubling pattern of politically motivated detentions,” the statement read. “We urge the international community to hold China accountable for its actions.”

Friends and associates describe Harper as a passionate advocate for global cooperation. “Eliza has always believed in the power of dialogue and understanding between nations,” said the former manager for Brutish Colonizer, Simon Grayson. “The idea that she would engage in espionage is absurd.”

Chinese authorities allege that Harper used her status as a cultural ambassador to gain access to restricted areas and information. But Western officials and experts have questioned the credibility of these accusations, suggesting that Harper may have been targeted for her association with Olavi and his own political activism. Some analysts believe that China is using her arrest as leverage in broader geopolitical tensions with the West.

“This is a classic case of hostage diplomacy,” said Dr. Evelyn Hart, a professor of international relations at Columbia University. “By detaining someone with a high profile and Western connections, China is sending a message to its adversaries.”

Under Chinese law, espionage charges can carry severe penalties, including life imprisonment or even the death penalty. Foreign nationals accused of such crimes are often denied access to legal representation and face trials shrouded in secrecy. Harper’s legal team, based in the United States, has called for international intervention to ensure her safety and a fair trial.

“Our client has been unjustly detained and deprived of her basic rights,” said lead attorney Jonathan Mills. “We urge the global community to stand with Eliza and demand her release.”

As Harper’s case unfolds, her supporters are calling for vigilance and action. Advocacy groups have organized petitions and demonstrations to pressure governments and international organizations to intervene on her behalf. Diplomatic negotiations are reportedly underway, though officials have provided few details, and experts caution that resolving the case will require delicate maneuvering to balance the interests of all parties involved.

“The priority must be Eliza’s safety and freedom,” said Mills. “We remain hopeful that justice will prevail, but we need the world to stay engaged.”

For now, Harper’s family, friends, and supporters continue to fight for her release, determined to ensure that her story does not end in silence. “Eliza is more than a widow or an activist,” said Grayson. “She’s a symbol of resilience and courage. We won’t stop until she’s free.”

Organizers of the prominent “Shake a Leg” charity marathon, which has been raising funds for Parkinson’s Disease research for more than 12 years, are facing accusations of discrimination after a recent rule change that has barred runners with prosthetic legs from competing in the main event.

The controversy erupted after several athletes with prosthetic legs reported that they had been denied entry into the upcoming race, while organizers cited concerns about “maintaining fairness in competition” as the basis for their decision.

“We have to ensure a level playing field for all participants,” said Mark Henderson, spokesperson for the organizing committee, during a press conference held in Austin, TX. “Athletes with prosthetic limbs may have advantages or disadvantages compared to runners without them. Until we have definitive scientific guidelines, we must err on the side of caution.”

The decision was met with swift condemnation from athletes, advocacy groups, and members of the public. Many argue that the exclusion of runners with prosthetic legs is not only discriminatory but also ignores the immense challenges these athletes face.

“Prosthetic runners train just as hard, if not harder, to compete at the highest levels,” said Amelia Boudreaux, a Paralympic medalist who was among the runners recently excluded. “Kicking us out sends a message that our achievements are less valid.”

Several organizations advocating for people with disabilities, including the International Coalition for Inclusive Athletics (ICIA), have demanded that the marathon’s organizers reverse their decision. The ICIA has also called for the creation of standardized regulations for athletes using assistive technology to prevent similar controversies in the future. Legal experts have also suggested that the exclusion may violate anti-discrimination laws in some jurisdictions.

“This decision sets a dangerous precedent,” said Jenna Castillo, a human rights attorney specializing in disability law. “Not only does it marginalize a group of talented athletes, but it also risks legal repercussions for the organizers.”

The marathon’s organizers, however, maintain that their decision complies with existing rules set by athletic governing bodies. “We are aligning with guidelines from major sports organizations, which remain unclear on how to integrate runners with prosthetics into mixed competitions,” Henderson said.

At the heart of the controversy lies a complex scientific debate about the role of prosthetics in athletic performance. Some studies suggest that advanced prosthetic limbs, such as those made from carbon-fiber blades, may offer advantages in energy efficiency and stride length. However, other research counters that these devices can also create unique challenges, including reduced stability and increased physical strain.

“The science is far from settled,” said Dr. Priya Nair, a sports biomechanist. “While some prosthetics may enhance certain aspects of running, they also come with limitations that traditional athletes don’t face. Treating all prosthetic users as a monolithic group oversimplifies the issue.”

Many of the runners impacted by the decision have shared their frustrations, highlighting the emotional toll of being excluded from a race they trained tirelessly for.

“Running has been my therapy, my passion, and my way of proving to myself and others that I can overcome any obstacle,” said Aaron Blake, a 28-year-old athlete who lost his right leg in a car accident and now competes using a prosthetic blade. “Being told I can’t compete because of my prosthetic feels like being punished for my resilience.”

The controversy has also drawn attention from political leaders and celebrities, many of whom have voiced support for the affected runners. In a social media post, globally renowned marathoner Kenenisa Bekele called the decision “a step backward for inclusivity in sports.”

Meanwhile, lawmakers in Texas have called for an investigation into the marathon’s policies. “Sports should unite us, not divide us,” said Senator Maria Aguilar in a statement. “We must ensure that all athletes have the opportunity to compete on equal footing.”

As advancements in prosthetic technology continue to blur the lines between natural and artificial abilities, sports organizations face mounting pressure to adapt.

“This issue isn’t going away,” said Dr. Nair. “If anything, it will become more pressing as technology evolves. We need a proactive, science-based approach to ensure fairness without sacrificing inclusivity.”

For runners like Boudreaux, Blake, and others who refuse to be sidelined, the fight for equality is far from over. “We’re not asking for special treatment,” Boudreaux said. “We’re asking for the chance to compete and show the world what we’re capable of. Isn’t that what sports are all about?”

During a somber gathering on Sunday evening to honor the memory of actor Ridley White, tensions erupted unexpectedly when a group of protesters interrupted the memorial vigil held at Griffith Park. The event initially drew over 200 attendees seeking to honor White’s memory and career, but had to be dispersed by police after it escalated into a minor riot, underscoring deep-seated divisions within the community.

Ridley White, who tragically passed away in an auto accident twenty years ago this month, was a beloved figure in Hollywood who was known for his roles on such programs as Jury & Executioner, Tightrope, and Her Trying Times. The wreck was initially attributed to intoxication, but later autopsy reports revealed that the primary drug in his bloodstream was not recreational, but a type commonly used to incapacitate date rape victims. The police never located any suspects in the alleged drugging, and the case remains unsolved.

The vigil was organized by the Ridley White Foundation, a nonprofit established by family members to celebrate his life and legacy. Attendees brought candles, flowers, and heartfelt messages, which adorned a temporary memorial set up at the park. The gathering also featured speeches from community leaders, musical tributes, and moments of silent reflection.

“Ridley’s passion for his craft inspired so many of us,” said Rebecca Nguyen, a fan and co-organizer of the event. “Tonight was meant to remind us of his message.”

As the vigil progressed, a group of approximately 30 protesters arrived at the scene, chanting slogans and holding signs reading “Fans Not Friends,” a reference to the national movement for celebrity privacy that was sparked twenty years ago in the wake of White’s death. The protesters claimed that the vigil itself was an example of the unhealthy parasocial relationships that fans sometimes develop, which is what they believe motivated the unknown person who drugged White on the evening of his death.

“Of course we respect White’s contributions to the acting community, but we believe his legacy is best served by not recreating the circumstances that led to his death,” said protester Mark Bradley. “Our presence here tonight is not about disrespecting his memory, but about standing up for the privacy rights of other actors who may find themselves in similar danger.”

Despite Bradley’s statement, the timing and nature of the protest drew sharp criticism from vigil attendees. Organizers pleaded for the protesters to allow the vigil to proceed uninterrupted, but tensions escalated as some attendees confronted the protesters, accusing them of insensitivity and opportunism.

What began as verbal exchanges soon turned into heated arguments, with both sides accusing the other of fostering division. Police officers, who had been present to ensure safety during the vigil, intervened to de-escalate the situation. No arrests were made, but the incident disrupted the solemn atmosphere, leaving many attendees visibly upset.

“This was supposed to be a space for healing and remembrance,” said Elena Garcia, a vigil attendee. “To see it turned into a battleground is heartbreaking. Ridley believed in dialogue, but this was not the time or place.”

The disruption has reignited the debate first raised in Hollywood twenty years ago, with residents and officials weighing in on the incident. The mayor’s office released a statement expressing disappointment over the events, urging respect for spaces of mourning.

“While free expression is a cornerstone of our democracy, there are moments that call for compassion and empathy,” the statement read in part. “The mayor calls on all members of our community to honor Ridley White’s legacy by engaging in constructive dialogue rather than conflict.”

In the aftermath of the vigil, community leaders are calling for initiatives to address the underlying tensions that led to the disruption. The Ridley White Foundation announced plans to host a series of town hall meetings aimed at fostering understanding and collaboration among opposing groups.

“Ridley’s work was about bringing people together, even when they disagreed,” said Nguyen. “We’re committed to continuing that mission by creating spaces where everyone feels heard.” Meanwhile, some attendees are organizing a follow-up vigil, emphasizing the importance of reclaiming the space for collective mourning. Plans are underway to involve mediators and ensure a peaceful environment

You may have never heard of Wendell von Wegberg, but he’s almost certainly taken you somewhere. Now, the life of the man credited with bringing high speed public transport to the United States has been meticulously dissected, in a new unauthorized biography titled Ship of Fools: How One Man Changed The Way We Move. This unflinching look at the enigmatic billionaire combines a compelling narrative with a wide array of perspectives and no shortage of receipts, making it a must-read for both admirers and critics of Wegberg’s legacy.

The first half of the book is a captivating account of Wegberg’s early ventures. From founding his first shipping company in his twenties to securing lucrative contracts during the economic boom of the 2030s, Wegberg’s ascent is portrayed as a masterclass in strategic thinking. At the same time, the author also underscores some of the darker aspects of this rise. Pink uncovers allegations of union-busting, environmental violations, and exploitative labor practices in developing countries, forcing readers to grapple with the duality of Wegberg as both a visionary and a stark individualist.

As with any unauthorized biography, Ship of Fools is not without its controversies. Critics have questioned the reliability of some sources, particularly those with long-standing grievances against Wegberg. The absence of direct input from Wegberg himself, who declined to be interviewed, leaves certain aspects of his life open to interpretation and speculation.

For better or worse, however, Wendell von Wegberg’s legacy is one that demands scrutiny, and Pink’s biography succeeds in sparking a vital conversation about the interplay of ambition, power, and ethics.

In an unprecedented and deeply troubling turn of events, a preschool in Los Angeles has been forced to shut down following allegations that it engaged in illegal child labor practices. Police were first notified of the situation earlier this month, after concerned parents reported unusual comments made by their children.

According to these reports, children between the ages of six months to three years were being coerced into a number of different money-making schemes at the Kids & Giggles Learning Center, many of which involved taking the children off-site without their guardians’ permission.

“My daughter came home talking about the ‘van ride to the playground,’” said one parent, Emily Carter. “At first, I thought she was just being imaginative, because there is a playground at the preschool. Turns out that’s not what she meant.”

A former staff member, who wished to remain anonymous, provided further insights into the alleged practices. “We had an arrangement with several local nursing homes,” she admitted. “They told us that it was good for elderly people to interact with little kids, and good for the kids to have more one-on-one attention. I had no idea there was money changing hands,” she added.

But while that former employee left over a year ago, more recent staff claim that the schemes didn’t stop there. “There was a photography team that came in like once a week,” said Joann Huntsman, who worked as a teacher in a classroom for two-year-olds. “Supposedly they were for marketing, you know, growing the business or whatever. But at some point, it’s like, don’t you have enough photos?”

Other teachers found the behavior suspicious as well. “We noticed the cameraman was always the same, but the assistants were different every time,” said Dottie Wegman. “Come to find out, they were all single men looking to add a few photos with kids to their online dating profiles, so they would appear more nurturing, or whatever.”

Police say there is evidence that the so-called photography assistants were paying to be present in the photo sessions. “Our preliminary findings indicate a pattern of systemic exploitation of the children’s likenesses and image for monetary gain,” said Detective Laura Chang, who is leading the investigation. “These actions are not only unethical, but illegal under the California Child Actor’s Bill.”

Meanwhile, other employees said they noticed a constant influx of new toys, games, and educational videos on the premises, and that certain administrators spent a lot of time taking notes on the children’s reactions to these new products, sometimes even recording video. The preschool had long been lauded for its progressive curriculum and state-of-the-art facilities.

The local community has been rocked by the revelations, with parents, educators, and local leaders expressing a mixture of outrage and disbelief.

“This is a betrayal of trust on an unimaginable scale,” said Laura Simmons, whose three-year-old son attended the preschool. “We trusted them to nurture and educate our children, not exploit them for free labor.”

Other parents, however, seemed more concerned with the financial secrecy. “You want to take my kid’s picture and give her free toys, fine,” said Brooke Rosenthal, whose two-year-old is in Huntsman’s class. “But I expect to see a cut of that money she’s making.”

Kids & Giggles’ management has denied all allegations, describing them as “misinterpretations of standard educational practices.” In a statement released through their attorney, the school’s director, Margaret Henley, said:

“Our curriculum includes activities designed to teach children the value of human interaction, as well as higher-level thinking skills like assessment and articulation of ideas. At no point were children forced to perform any kind of physical labor, or engage in age-inappropriate tasks, as these accusations imply. We are confident that a thorough investigation will exonerate our institution.”

Legal experts warn that if the allegations are substantiated, the preschool could face severe repercussions. In addition to violations of child labor laws, potential charges could include child neglect and endangerment, as well as breach of contract with parents.

“This case is unprecedented in early childhood education,” said attorney Michael Freedman, who specializes in education law. “If proven true, it could lead to significant penalties for the school and serve as a cautionary tale for other institutions.”

The case has ignited calls for reform in the regulatory framework governing preschools and daycare facilities. State Senator James Avery has announced plans to introduce legislation aimed at increasing transparency and accountability in early childhood education.

“Parents deserve to know that their children are in safe, nurturing environments,” Avery said. “We’re proposing mandatory annual inspections, comprehensive background checks for staff, and clear guidelines on acceptable practices.”

Advocacy groups have also launched public awareness campaigns, urging parents to remain vigilant and proactive when choosing educational institutions. “Ask questions, visit classrooms, and don’t hesitate to raise concerns,” advised Karen Lee, founder of the nonprofit Safe Schools Initiative. “Your child’s safety and well-being should always come first.”

For Emily Carter and others like her, the focus now is on healing and ensuring that such a betrayal never happens again. “We trusted them with our babies,” Carter said, her voice trembling with emotion. “They broke that trust, but we won’t let it define our children’s futures.”

Tech startup BioLocks is under fire after revelations that its flagship product, a shampoo advertised as uniquely tailored to customers based on their DNA, was instead formulated using customers’ basic demographic data—primarily ethnicity. The company is now facing a class-action lawsuit for false advertising and potential violations of consumer protection laws.

BioLocks launched its “Only Yours” brand shampoo to great fanfare three years ago, claiming to revolutionize the haircare industry by using cutting-edge genomics to create bespoke formulations for each customer. Customers were required to provide a small saliva sample, which the company purportedly analyzed to determine genetic factors influencing hair type, texture, and overall health.

The controversy erupted after a former employee, speaking under the pseudonym Alex Carter, leaked internal documents revealing that BioLocks’ DNA testing process was a sham. According to the whistleblower, the company’s so-called personalized formulas were determined not by genetic analysis but by basic demographic data such as age, gender, and ethnicity.

“It was all smoke and mirrors,” Carter alleged. “Customers believed their DNA was being used to create something unique, but in reality, we were throwing the swabs away and assigning them one of just five generic formulations, plus a fragrance determined by gender.” Further investigation of the internal company documents revealed that the shampoo formulations were intended to correspond to broad ethnic categories.

A class-action lawsuit filed in a New York court alleges that BioLocks engaged in deceptive business practices and violated consumer trust. Plaintiffs argue that the company exploited sensitive personal data—that is, DNA samples—under false pretenses, and failed to deliver on its core promise of individualized care.

“This is not just about false advertising; it’s about the misuse of genetic data,” said lead attorney Lisa Mendez. “We already know that they lied about what they were doing with the DNA samples they received, so who’s to say what their real intentions were?”

The revelations have sparked outrage among BioLocks’ customers, many of whom feel betrayed by the company’s actions.

“I thought I was investing in a product that would finally address my unique hair needs,” said Rachel Liu, one of the plaintiffs in the case. “Instead, I was given a generic shampoo based on, let’s be honest, racism. It’s insulting and infuriating.”

In a statement released following the lawsuit, BioLocks denied any wrongdoing and defended its business practices.

“BioLocks is committed to innovation and transparency,” the statement read. “Our formulations are developed using a combination of scientific research and customer-provided data to deliver high-quality haircare solutions. We stand by the efficacy of our products and will vigorously defend against these unfounded allegations.”

The BioLocks controversy has sent shockwaves through the beauty and wellness industry, which has increasingly embraced personalization as a key marketing strategy. From skincare to dietary supplements, companies are leveraging AI and genetic testing to offer bespoke solutions, often at premium prices.

“Trust is the cornerstone of the beauty industry,” said Karen Wilson, a brand consultant. “Once that trust is broken, it’s incredibly difficult to recover.”

The ethereal and sometimes beautifully unnerving band Hello Caller has just returned with their second studio album, Ghost Anatomy. Known for their atmospheric soundscapes, melancholic lyrics, and intricate instrumentation, the group has once again delivered a collection of tracks that feel like a haunting journey through twilight woods.

Like their first album, the biggest strength of Ghost Anatomy is that it feels both familiar and new at the same time. From the recognizable horns and breathy vocals of “Found It in Her Waves,” to the genre-expanding “Electric Skies” with its unexpected old country influences, Hello Caller’s music can best be described as mindful—every track is exactly as intended, and we can’t help but follow along.

For those brave enough to lose themselves in its shadowy embrace, Ghost Anatomy offers a deeply resonant and unforgettable experience.
